Grade 6... The end is near..

Hey guys!!
Grade 6  is almost over! We have done so much work over this year, or for me I've only been here since December, what a shame I wish I was here the whole year!
Here's my Final blogpost for grade 6 :(

What piece of work/ assignment and learning am I most proud of?
Well I'm really super proud of my Ancient Egyptian Diary's I love narrative writing, I love free writing. For my Ancient Egyptian Diary I took about 1 and a half days to fully complet, (with editing) 1000 words (one diary entry), I took a day to finish this because I had to really think about what I was doing and really come up with a good story like and a plot, with the characters and things like that it took a while to do, don't worry in the end of the story she stays with a kind family and becomes there 'Helper'

What were my greatest challenges? Explain.
One of greatest challenges was when I first came here, I came from a school where we actually used books and binders to learn so one of my greatest challenges was having to adjust to the way that we learn here in ISKL, Humanities really helped me adjust because we used computers a lot and Ms.Narsiman helped setting up my moodle and Blogpost, so that really helped.
The 2nd biggest challenge for me was Math, I have always had trouble with Math, even in my old schools I had trouble with my fractions or my Times Tables, and other stuff too,but since I have been in Math Support I have been improving all of my areas that I have trouble in math.

Reflecting on my growth this year, what did I learn about myself as a learner?
As a learner, learning I learned that I am a logic profile learner and that I like to have things set out and to have instructions, I also learned about my self that I am very enthusiastic about my learning and that I have a smile on everyday, (I have actually noticed that I smile a lot) and even my teachers have said that, so over all I am good learner and I like to have Instructions and I like to read them all and then start.

Behavior
Satisfactory, I have  satisfactory behavior the other option was 'Perfect student-Role model' No, thats not me even though I mess around sometimes and tend to be silly at times I think that I have a well behaved behavior. Like when I was in Humanities and Emma and I had made a project and we were used as examples and we were like 'Oh stop it you ^.^'  we were so proud that we had our work done, the reasond that I used this example is because Emma and I know that we sometimes mess around in Humanities and every class that we sit next to each other in and Ms.Narsiman informed us that our Behavior and messing around had to stop otherwise we weren't allowed to work together, so we said to each other that we had to work seriously and that it was time for class we could mess around later.

Based upon my reflections, write two personal learning goals for Grade 7 next year.
Goal 1 - In Grade 7, I plan to become a better student and fix my Math up, Math in 7th grade is going to he HARD!
Goal 2 - In Grade 7, I plan to focus more in class even though I'm not that bad at it I mean I just want to improve my attention in class and not fool around.

Is there any more information about yourself that you would like the teachers to know?
Well if you have read my WHOLE blog then you know that I would prefer to have clear straight instructions and I like to be chased if I haven't turned in any of my missing work, I would prefer if I am in a class with Emma.B then not to sit at another table so we can finish our work on time.

Finally, cast your minds back to the first few months of middle school (when you arrived in Grade 6 ) what "Words of Wisdom" or "Advice" could you pass on to the Class of 2019?
I'm sure everyone's going to say this but when you get an assignment START WORKING ON IT THE NUGH YOU GET IT!

Thats it for Grade 6~ See you soon Grd.7 :S

Malaysia week :D

My Malaysia Week was AWESOME in Endau Rompin, I had a super fun time, I went on a 2 hour hike in Leech infested jungles, body rafted down rivers, and learnt how to build trap!
The hike was most challenging for me because we had to walk through a lot of leeches, the guides said they wouldn't hurt, oh but they did!
I was wearing strap sandel's NO socks, so they got into my shoes, I though I had none because they were beneath my straps but then they started to sting and it hurt so much!!!
‘D jungle people’ was the organization that helped with the preparations and they sent some people out to help us in the Jungle.

On the 1st night we stayed in NERC, it was hut like place, it was about 10 meters above the ground and has one bridge that connected to the rooms, the rooms were quite dusty, they had that 'old' smell and there was a big door patio type thing that we opened in the night to let the cool in.
When we were in NERC we (Claire, Rosie, Olivia and I) told scary storys, we all got scared so I moved down to Olivia's bed and slept with her but JUST when we were about to fall asleep there was a huge SPIDER! It was HUGE! it had long skinny black legs, so we jumped up and closed the window doors.

The next day it was the trek day, all the boys were like 'come at me bro' to the Leeches all the boys said that they weren't afraid of leeches but they were, the boys were squealing most of the time. On the Hike we had to cross 2 rivers, on the 1st one it was safe enough to just cross with the support of other people guiding you, but on the 2nd river it was a different story, you had to be attached to a rope that pulled you along and if you looked up you would see that the floods in 2006 completely demolished the bridge that was there in 2006 before the floods.

I definitely think that I used Collaborate Constructively because we had to all be at the ready and if we were grumpy we had to give special care to cheer them up.
I used Learn Enthusiastically because we had to make an animal trap it was JUST when we woke up so we were all grumpy so one of us had to cheer everyone up, and that was me we had to be happy so that everyone would want to be in the group, because one of the guides showed us how to make the animal traps so we all had to be listening so we could make our own.

I also used Communicate Effectively because we had this number thing that when anyone of the Guides would say 'Sound Off' then we had to say the number that was given to you, I was number 2 and Rosie was number 1 so when she would say 1 I would say 2 then Olivia would say 3 etc. It goes up to 16 and if one of the numbers aren't called then we have to start looking for them, but thankfully we didn't have to do that :)

How was your Malaysia week?

Mom and Dad :)

Dear Mom and Dad,

I have left you in the night to go to the White Mountains, well you probably already know that I’m so sorry that I didn’t say goodbye to you when I left, Henry has joined me on this journey not by my choice though, he must have heard noises when I was leaving, he ran up to me and we fought I told him that he should stay behind he disagreed, he won the war that we were having by saying that he had nothing to go back to, I felt sorry for him obviously had already lost he was happy he was joining and getting away from being capped,
honestly I don’t think anyone wants be capped I’m not sure about you guys but for sure I want to have freedom,
we ventured on together I was glad he came so I’d have company I didn’t show it though,  we came across an intelligent French boy named Zeanpole but Henry and I call him Beanpole,
we met him in a tobacco smoke filled room in a town that we stopped to go to the sea,  he had also joined us,
when we first met him he had these weird things on his face he called them glasses, they were glass with a metal around the rim to hold them together they are hooked gently around his ears, so he can see better,
I wonder how he came up with such a brilliant idea?
He has other brilliant ideas to he thought about a big balloon connected to a big basket that takes you to other lands, maybe he could build one and we could all go to a land where none of us are capped,
I would love that, if I could be with you guys and have freedom at the same time that would be amazing,
even though we had a hard time getting here I got to be free and experience freedom,
we have met royal bloods, but if we had stayed with them we would have been capped,
but I fell in love with a girl named Eloise, so it made the decision harder,
we survived by saying that me and Henry were brothers and that Beanpole was our dumb cousin that couldn’t speak nor hear,
but in his sleep he talked, he talked so loud that he attracted a lot of attention and people came to hear him, so we had to plan our escape we decided that Henry and  Beanpole would leave first because they would be less missed with all the commotion of the Capping Tournament and me I would go on the day of the Capping tournament, truth be told I just wanted to spend some more time with Eloise but they were all busy preparing for the Tournament that she barley had any time to talk to me,  I miss her already she seemed not to notice me when I was at the Castle and I feel horrible,
but we escaped and we are now in the White Mountains, were not sure what our duties are though but we know that we have finally have freedom.

Love your loving son Will

Beanpole....

How will Beanpole help Will and Henry on their journey to the White Mountains?

The reason's why I think Beanpole is important to the group is that he can speak French
and they are in a french country so it is important to communicate with the locals.
Beanpole can also speak English so he is like a walking translator. But Beanpole's grammar
isn't perfect (he taught him-self English) so thats Will and Henry correct Beanpole while they listen to him telling stories about things. Other than being a walking translator Beanpole is tremendously intelligent he "is a great brain". There society has gone back to a simpler time where technology has been forgotten and Beanpole has re-thought up inventions that have been long forgotten this could be a BIG help toward the group becasue they can out smart the people but for the tripods they are smarter.

Mainly I think that his intelligence will help the group the most, or maybe having more company, a distraction for Will so he dosen't nag Henry all the time, so in the long run Henry won't leave the group and they will get along better.
I think that they will reach the White mountains with the help of Beanpole, he has helped them so much already who's to say that he wont help more?

I think that Beanpole is the type of person that is very trustful and courageous, it will help Will and Henry just to have another local to show them the way and have the knowledge of all the stories that Beanpole shares with them, he has already been a big help to the boys because he has already showed the right way to the White mountains.

How am I similar to another WILL?

So far you've read 2 chapters of The White Mountains and discussed it in your first literature circles group. We really hope you are enjoying your time reading the story, and we know that stories are more interesting if you can make a personal connection.
So, in that spirit, write a brief 3 paragraph blog post answering the following question:

The book I am reading is "The Tripods, The white Mountain" this book is about a boy named Will who wants to escape to the White Mountains to be free and escape from being capped. Will is the main character in the book. It looks like he want to be free and not be capped form the Ozymandias.

How is Will just like me?

Will is like me because he is very courageous,  he wants to escape his future of becoming capped and run away to the White Mountains and have his own rights there i'mk not sure how its going to work out though, he is very opinionated just like me,
I like to give my own opinions even though there not always right and I look like a complet idiot after, we still like people to know though.

I am just like Will because I am very independent Will is trying to find a better future for himself  and he wants to become his own person and not follow his parents tradition,
I also find will very brave, I myself am not that brave but I think I had to mention this because this book is based on bravery and freedom, I really enjoy reading the book when I think about the whole meaning..
